Uggggh! Queens Crap Blog Gives Preservationists a Bad Name

Much has been written in the "Blogosphere" about the Queens Crap blog, supposedly dedicated to tackling the issue of overdevelopment in that borough. Take a look. Such a beautiful logo. The guy(s) who run that site are VERY angry, and they are obviously xenophobic. Note the references to the Chinese, always in a negative light.

Oh, they'll deny it, but just listen to their rants. We don't need people like these poisoning the historic preservation movement in this town.

The preservationists gave themselves a bad name. Talk to the typical Queens person, even someone who is in a responsible position, and you shockingly find that they have no real idea what preservation really means.

The preservation community is known as a bunch of kooks. And they never made the effort (unlike the folks at Crap) to explain to the general public why this is important.

The folks over a Queens Crap invented a word, called 'tweeding.' It when the politicians pandar to immigrants for votes and or support. Yes its named after Boss Tweed. And yes, its ruining our borough.

Unlike the mainline preservation community, they decry the explotation of immigrants, as workers in the building industry, as residents in basement hovels.

But have you ever been to a mainline preservationist event. Does this reflect the diversity of the city?

Of course not. Get real before you start thowing stones.

Just curious. What references to the Chinese are you talking about? Can you give a few examples?

Are they REALLY so concerned about the plight of immigrants? BTW: until an immigrant is naturalized he/she cannot vote, and is therefore of little concern to a politician.
